The night was a huge success as hundred's of music lovers poured into Notting Hill's famous, Tabernacle concert hall. "Shradhanjali" is the Hindi word for tribute. Kaashi Arts paid homage to the late master performer, educator and music maestro, Pandit Sharda Sahai ji of the Benares Gharana (School) of Tabla. A two part production featuring the best of UK based talent performing devotional and commemorative pieces to begin the evening. The second half and main act for the evening was a Tabla solo performed by the current head of the Benares Gharana and 6th generation of Benaresi tabla players, Pandit Sanju (Vishnu) Sahai ji. He was the son and student of Pandit Sharda Sahai ji and continues this rich legacy through teaching and performing all over the world. The mission - to film the best artists around! Fortunately, the team's timing was great and in late April, the famous Sankat Mochan Sangeet Samaroh festival was in full swing.
